The Story of EVD

For some people, making a video is not only a technical activity. It is a way of expressing themselves, leaving a mark, and letting their voice be heard.

Yet for years, many video editing tools were built in ways that left blind and keyboard-first users outside the creative process. Accessible Video Editor was born from that absence.

EVD is built on a simple belief: video creation can be more accessible, more understandable, and more open to everyone. If someone has a story to shape and a vision to share, access barriers should not stand in the way.

With EVD, it is possible to move from basic editing tasks to richer and more layered creative workflows. Cutting and shaping videos, adding transitions, placing audio, images, and text, creating subtitles, working with video layers, preparing slideshows, synchronizing audio, and bringing separate pieces into one meaningful whole are all part of the world EVD is trying to open.

Beyond that, OBS integration brings accessible recording and live streaming into the same path. EVD is not only an editing tool. It becomes part of a wider journey that stretches toward creating, recording, preparing, and sharing.

Perhaps the most exciting part is this: with the AI support available throughout these workflows, even a totally blind user can create strong, expressive, and genuinely creative video edits. This is not only a technical possibility. It means a space that once felt distant can now truly be reached.

With the latest releases, EVD has become more mature, more welcoming, and more open. The first-run experience, project starting point, visual structure, and timeline readability were all reconsidered. EVD also gained multilingual support, allowing it to reach people across different languages while keeping accessibility at its core.

For me, EVD is not just software. It is a hope that creation can become more inclusive, and that technology can help independence grow. If this work helps even one person produce their own content more freely and let their voice travel farther, then this journey has found its meaning.

My heartfelt thanks go to everyone who follows this journey, supports it, tests it, and shares feedback.
